The area that I live in has very limited yoga therapists and the one I went was more concerned with my mental well being rather than physical. I have low back, hip, & tailbone pain. I also have a herniated disc and problems with my sacroiliac joint. I would love to know what poses & sequences would be most beneficial & which are prohibited. Any other suggestions for therapy are welcome!
They have classes but they are not the cheapest, I have rented and puchased videos, you can get them as well as books free from your local library. You should take one or two classes or even ask your doc what is ok and not ok b/c of your cond. Start at beginner level, if something hurts, discontinue the excercise. Take it slowly and eventually you will learn maybe even by trial of what works and what does not. Yoga can be beneficial in many ways and alternatly very therapeutic. Hope this helps. Oh, there is also yoga for elderly or for ppl with injuries videos avail, they will less intrusive also. If you have benefits u may also want to look into a chiropractor.

The Chicago Tribune said the memoir published Monday chronicles what happens when Okrant strictly adhered to the guidance the iconic media mogul dispensed on her television chat show, her O magazine and her Web site as the influential celebrity tried to help people live their best lives.
The newspaper quoted Okrant as saying in a 2008 interview that her goal in penning her LivingOprah.com blog and the book was to comment on commercialism, self-reliance and the media's impact on women.
