The great benefit of having good core strength is the fact that you don't have to worry about issues dealing with your back or tight hip muscles which can lead to further injuries like bad knees or aching ankles.

To develop core strength you need to work the muscles of the core. This of course requires you to do a lot more than your traditional crunches. You can perform moves like the plank, russian twist, supermans and glute bridges just to name a few.

You can simply look up those by going to yahoo and typing those exercises and the word exercise in any search engine.

"core" refers to your core muscles, such as your torso.

The benefits of developing/strengthening these muscles is that they make other exercises easier on your body and they also prepare you for the real world, as you will be less prone to injury both in the real world and during exercise.

You can "develop" your core muscles by working on them and over time they will become stronger
