my pit has a white spot on his skin(no hair) do you think because of his food? im feeding him natural choice... or is it because of the shampoo? i use to give him a bath 3x a week... the vet said use the johnson baby shampoo then give him a bath 1x week. should i change his food to I AMS to see if his allergy to natural choice?
Only try one thing at a time. I would do what the vet said first. 3x a week may be a bit excessive and you could be drying out his skin. The Johnson's baby shampoo is very mild and wont zap the moisture from his skin. Do this for a few weeks, keep him on the same food. If he gets better, then that was the problem. If he gets worse, try changing his food one at a time, leave him on the new food for one week straight and see how he is doing. If he continues to worsen, take him back to the vet, he may have a skin condition requiring a prescription.

Nov 11, 2007 by Stephenie T | Posted in Allergies
I have a seasonal allergy although it does not persist for longer period of time but it causes me to sneeze, to cough and to wheeze a lot. Can anyone tell me what else can happen in allergies and what are the factors that can cause allergies??
Allergy is the body reaction to the foreign substance that comes in contact with the body through the surrounding environment and is mostly known as allergen. Basically, these are the factors that cause allergic reaction in your body and they include so many things like egg, milk, fruit, Soya, pollen, some drugs like penicillin, dust, smoke, flakes of pet skin and etc
Allergic response varies from person to person. It can be different for you and different for me and it also depends on the factor that is causing this response I usually suffer when I take seafood and what happens to me is shortness of breath, sneezing and diarrhea. And it subsides after some time I do not need to take any medicine for that. I hope this will help you, and still if you have any confusion related to allergies read the following article

Hurricane Irene's Flooding May Bring On Allergy Symptoms
02.09.11
Hurricane Irene may have dissipated into the universe, but it continues to wreak havoc on home and health.
Experts warn that the excessive flooding that followed Irene could cause a surge of mold. For those with allergies, this can mean coughing, sneezing and wheezing galore.
"As Northeasterners, we're not really accustomed to hurricanes, and as a result, we're not accustomed to the ramifications," said Dr. Clifford Bassett , medical director of Allergy and Asthma Care of N.Y. "People are coming in for mold-related symptoms and pollen allergies. It's like the perfect storm."
About one-third of all those with allergies are sensitive to mold. Allergic reactions to the fungi include nasal congestion and sneezing. Asthmatics will experience chest congestion, coughing and difficultly in breathing.
"Just because you don't see it or smell it doesn't mean the mold isn't there," said Bassett. "Dust mites love mold and moisture, so you're going to have an indoor allergy and asthma problem if it's not taken care of."
