Chart Ruler is Moon with seven negative aspects in 12th House...Questions?

I am a Cancer Ascendant (at 4 degrees) with a Gemini Moon at 8 degrees in the 12th House. As I understand, since there are no planets conjunct my Ascendant (in fact, none at all in the 1st-4th houses) to integrate which the ruler of my rising sign, my moon is undoubtedly the ruler of my natal chart. I have only been studying astrology for just under a year independently and while natal and progressed chart interpretations fascinate me, I'm scared ( I know, I know - pathetic!) of my own. I have 23 major aspects in my chart and only 5 are of a harmonious nature. My natal chart ruler situated in the 12th house as a Gemini Moon makes 8 unharmonious aspects (not one harmonious) including a done to the degree opposition to Saturn and Mars. I promise all this is not a self fulfilling prophecy as astrology is a very new study for me but I have had an incredibly difficult life full of depression, anxiety, and estrangement from an abusive family. Incredibly empathic, the energy of others influences me to an extent that feels intolerable so I'm prone to seclusion. Think of me this way - always the quiet observer, I am very much the content wallflower in silent observation of others writing in the notebook glued to my hand. Everyone seems to misread my moods. When I'm content, the questioning begins "What's wrong?" perfect strangers ask me. I've never felt "of this world" and I'm starting to wonder if this could be a profound aspect to work through in my chart. I've been to astrologers but do not find them helpful as they tend to ignore my moon altogether and focus on my 6th and 9th House stelliums. Can someone shed some light on his annoying issue for me? All my natal chart stats are as follows:
Ascendant - 4Cancer23
Midheaven - 9Pisces2
Sun - 28Aquarius46 in 9th
Moon - 8Gemini31 in 12th
Mercury - 11Pisces46 in 10th
Venus - 11Pisces46 in 9th
Mars - 9Sagittarius2 in 6th
Jupiter - 29Aquarius18 in 9th
Saturn - 8Sagittarius58 in 6th
Uranus - 21Sagittarius45 in 6th
Neptune - 5Capricorn10 in 7th
Pluto - 7Scorpio20 Retrograde in 5th
I appreciate anyone's input.
I've wondered about what other aspects could overcome such an initially daunting, and rather devastating to be quite frank, that I received for my first ever natal chart interpretation. She was quite frank regarding her beliefs and stuck to them firmly. I didn't get the impression that a 12th house ruling planet is ever a positive placement in her mind. I've sense read some more promising interpretations. I have always felt a profound need to heal others (not in a false, hero complex sense) and all of my careers have reflected that (childcare provider, crises line work for those who have been victims of abuse, recovery unit nurse, and some per diem tutoring in creative writing). If I don't feel I am helping others, I feel worthless. Not just day to day help but crises mode-extreme perhaps the reason for such a positively aspected Pluto (I volunteer as a rape crises counselor still and it is the most fulfilling work I've ever known). The tighter orbs are a great suggestion. TY!
Having the Moon in Gemini is a strong indication that you have a deep need to be heard and have your ideas and ideas accepted. It's not so much that you need to need to be right all the time, but rather that you are accepted as being naturally curious, having a youthful and uplifting spirit, and a brilliant streak to your personality. Gemini Moons are known for their lightheartedness, friendliness and good will. Fact. I am quite aware of the negative qualities of Gemini Moons, like nervousness, unable to ground properly, inability to focus etc. but honestly, why dwell on the negative side? Life's too short to waste it on worrying about something you don't want anyway. Having a Gemini Moon means that you need to be totally comfortable about communicating your feelings. That's the whole point of what a Moon in Gemini does. Feeling entitled to acknowledge and honor how you experience your emotions and intuition is the key. Astrology is only a tool to be used to support your reaching that deep self-acceptance and inner security that comes when accept yourself as the loving and unique person you are.
Each chart has its own dynamic and reflects the nature of how each person struggles to find a meaningful existence. With your mentally active Gemini Moon in the 12th house of illusions, self-deception, sorrow, etc. we seem to be looking at a sign that all that communication and sharing you want will fall on deaf ears. No one will listen. It doesn't matter anyway, because you're probably crazy to boot.
See how easy it is to create negative interpretations, especially the type that seem to be totally overwhelming and impossible to do anything about? That's what astrologers do when they can't figure out how to express the positive side in their readings. But isn't that what Astrology is supposed to do?
My reaction to this type of interpretation and approach to astrology is that not only is it fortune-telling, but it's very dangerous. Dangerous because there is no way anyone could ever truly embody such negative explanations. These type of interpretations were designed to be threatening and pass themselves off as some dark and unchangeable truth that invalidates anyone that has it in their chart. You own your 12th house Moon. You get to experience how it feels and, more importantly, determine how you will deal with it. Don't let anyone take your power away from you. This means feeling free to say that interpretations that feel negative and ominous are not helping you. Astrology is supposed to help. If its making you feel horrible about yourself, then you need to call a spade a spade. That type of astrology is worthless and frankly, the product of ignorance and fear you don't need.
I see the 12th house as the 3rd house from the MidHeaven. It is where you communicate (3rd) your role in the world (MC). Your Mercury/Venus conjunction on your MC indicates that you are able to give a beautiful form to the way you communicate. The energy of square it forms to your Gemini Moon could just be the edge you need to become crystal clear about what you feel and how you want to say it, whether through writing, or whatever form feels right to you. The point is, you've got to go over your chart with the intention of making each part of it work for you. You rule your chart. Use your strong and original Uranus energy to get past the uneasiness, and see the truth and celebrate it.
