Extreme Yoga Poses - Fitness

What are some easy yoga poses for a beginner?

I'm 14 and want to start doing yoga. But not like extreme yoga(if theres such a thing?) but just something to do after school to relax me and help me get some form of physical activity.

I work for a health video website called http://icyou.com- we have lots of free yoga videos. One of our users named Tara Stiles is a celebrity yoga instructor- she has created a number of instructional yoga videos designed for beginners that you might like, below are the links to a few.

First, here is a couple she did that show you how to do some of the basic poses- these will help you with your yoga routine or you can create your own with just these poses:

Down Dog Pose: http://icyou.com/topics/diseases-conditi ons/yoga-beginners-down-dog-mike+
Handstand: http://icyou.com/topics/diseases-conditi ons/yoga-beginners-hand-stand-mike-taylo r+

Here are 2 yoga routines that Tara created for beginners- the second one is my favorite, I do it once or twice a week:

If you like those yoga routines, she has many more you can try. You can see all her videos here: http://icyou.com/user/3107

Hope this helps!

should i do yoga, and how to avoid injury?

i'm a 19 year old girl, thin but not very flexible. i can't afford a class to learn proper form, so i've just been trying yoga with youtube videos and yoga magazine clippings. i'm taking it at an easy pace and don't feel extreme pain at any of the poses. i've been really sore since i started though...is that normal because i'm stretching, and will go away gradually, or is that a sign that i'm doing poses improperly? is there long-term damage by using poor form that i should be concerned about? if so, is there a way to avoid it without taking a yoga class? i want to keep doing yoga but im just worried i'm hurting my body...

You really need to get into a class, there are free classes and clubs in every community, check Craigslist and local sites.
You run the very real risk of hurting yourself, *especially* if you are not naturally flexible, you need an instructor to guide you and show you the correct way to accomplish the poses.
Look into Tai Chi, which is free and plentiful as well, until you can find or afford a proper yoga class. It's not worth injuring yourself just to say you do yoga.

Police: Accused killer hid in professor's home

Since being arrested and charged with murder Sunday, Hawes has refused to speak to police.

However, police say that before his Sunday arrest, he made a telephone confession to an unidentified person, according to testimony by Columbia Police Sgt. William Pegram at Thursday’s hearing.

Hawes had silencer-equipped guns, a previous domestic violence arrest, a visa that would allow him to leave the country and apparently fraudulent identification allowing him to pose as a law enforcement officer, Pegram said.

Fifth Circuit assistant prosecutor Dolly Justice Garfield told the court Hawes is “a danger to society and an extreme flight risk.”

Among those attending the hearing were about 40 of Wilson’s friends and colleagues.

Manning denied bond after hearing the allegations. Hawes is being represented by assistant public defender Kris Hines, who said little during the hearing.

“Absent some compelling reason, I think bond will probably remain denied to this particular defendant — for his own safety, as well as for the safety of this community,” Manning said. “I suspect it will remain denied unless there is some intervention from the Almighty or something like that.”

Do I Say Namaste Back To My Yoga Instructor? « SEY

At the end of every yoga elegance my professor brings his give in at the middle in orison postulate and says “Namaste” The first taste I said it back but I was the only one. Everyone else bowed their heads, but kept untroubled. The next rank I didn’t say anything and neither did anyone else. Are we imagined to say it back? I thoughtfulness you were.

Yes, go before and say it back. Often we are intimidated when we do something “the multitude” doesn’t do, and worry ourselves on our correctness. In this receptacle, perhaps everyone else in the elegance is also unsure. You can be effective in yourself and say “Namaste`” back to your mistress, knowledgable you are saying “I honor you”.
