Will any weight plates fit on one bar or are they different sizes?
I am looking at a weider 6 foot spin lock weight barbell. It comes with 160 pounds of weights. I am just wondering what the difference is between this and an olympic bar. Also, are all weight plates the same or are their different sizes for the different bars? If i was going to get the weider one, could i buy more weights if i ever outgrew the 160 and how do i know if they will fit?
Most bars come in standard sizes:
either the 1 inch bar:
or
the olympic bar which has a larger diameter than the 1 inch bar.
1 inch weight will not fit on an olympic bar because the holes are not big enough
olympic plates will not fit on a 1 inch bar because the holes are too big unless you buy and adapter for the 1 inch bar so you can use olympic weights.
Had a Weider spin lock and all standard 1 inch plates fit it.
Now here is a problem you might run into> I also had Weider spin lock dumbbells with spin lock weight plates. The spin lock plates would not fit on another bar or dumbbells but spin lock ones>
However I could use regular standard 1 inch weight plates on the dumbbell's.
