Does an inversion table help your body relax and stretch out? (especially after doing physical work)?
also, what are the other benefits to these inversion tables besides stretching your back, spinal cord and muscles? does it also help your brain? how so? and how long do most turn upside down and do they do this completely? how many times per day?
Why this isnt more popular?
anything can explain appreciated
how common and how popular? (if know) in Britain or USA , etc? and why?
Inversion therapy (which is a common form of traction therapy) can help you relax and stretch out at the same time! This is especially true after working out - lactic acid builds up in your muscles while you work out, which causes stiffness/soreness. This lactic acid is washed out of your body using the lymphatic system, and inverting helps this process....helping you relax and feel a lot better after a workout.
Some people have had some issues while inverting that prevent them from relaxing:
1) Hurt their feet/ankles
2) Hurt their lower back
However, for most people it just takes a few times to get used to hanging upside down. Also, it can help to have a good table and not some cheap $100 table that you bought at Big5. I would recommend something from either Teeter or Ironman - both make excellent tables (although I do think Teeter is better overall, they are also a little more expensive). One other thing, try inverting in just your socks - that is by far the most comfortable way for me to invert.
Also - make sure you talk with your doc before you try inverting.
