Back extention machine for obliques with weight...make you look wider?

I have been using the back extention machine , the one that is at about a 30 degree angle to do work out my obliques, I have recently started to use a 25 lbs plate and wonder if it will make me look wider or make the area where love handles are look bigger... this is NOT the desired affect. I am looking to tighten up my mid section and have been going hardcore on the crunches and oblique exercises .. I'm 6ft 168lbs in good shape.
No, it will not at all. It will make your obliques stronger and give you more stability for sports and other weight lifting movements, but the amount they physically grow will be so minor, you will not notice it.
It will however, give your abs an amazing look when you finally burn off all the fat and can show off your six pack!

how come im not getting any more muscular?

ive been weight lifting for over three months and i still look almost the same when i started. ive been doing 3 sets and 12 reps for each exercise. im 14 years old im 5'4 almost 5'5 and i weigh 120 lbs.
i think i eat right, and i think i get enough protein. I have a protein supplement after i workout. I increase the resistance every workout so ive been getting stronger.
My workout plan:
monday: chest & shoulders
chest press
bench press
incline bench press
shoulder press
dumbbell row
front raise
tue bicep & tricept
bicep curl
preacher curl
hammer curl
tri pulldown
tri extencion
tri press
wendsday running
8 miles
thursday back & abs
cable row
back extention
pull up
crunches
knee raise
machine crunch
fri legs
leg extention
leg curl
leg press
dumbbell squat
toe raise
thanks
If your going for a toned look then 12 reps is ok but if you are trying to bulk up you should do 5-6 reps of moderately heavy weight for 3 to 4 sets
